Manchester United began the defence of their Premier League title with a disappointing 1-1 draw against Newcastle. Newcastle took the lead at Old Trafford when Martins headed home on 22 minutes, only to see Darren Fletcher equalise two minutes later.
Keegan’s teaplayed well throughout with United strangely subdued.
In the end the draw was a fair result although Sir alex will be less than pleased by the result.
