Bordeaux -0 CFR Cluj

Bordeaux gained their first win in the Champions League at home against the Romanian team CFR Cluj. CFR Cluj were expected to do better but stayed on second place after leaders Chelsea.

Bordeaux controlled the match but they couldn’t find the opener until Gourcuff’s cross was deflected by Cadu into his own goal. Trica was sent off near the end of the match after a theatrical dive.

Panathinaikos 2-2 Werder Bremen

Panathinaikos and Werder Bremen played an excellent Champions League match in Greece. Bremen opened the scoring in the 29th minute after a set piece cross and a short range goal scored by Mertesacker

Mantzios scored with two superb headers that made it 2-0 for Panathinaikos . Almeida equalized for Werder, 7 minutes from time and the match ended 2-2 .

FC Basel 0-5 Barcelona

Barcelona slaughtered FC Basel in Switzerland last night  scoring 5 times against the home side.  Messi opened the scoring after a superb  Alves set up. Xavi assisted Burgos for his first goal for Barcelona and Bojan made it 0-3 and game over by the 22nd minute.

 Krkic scored again right after the break to make it 4-0 with Xavi hitting the fifth  3 minutes later.

 Barcelona  are now comfortably ahead of the following pack in the Group C.

Chelsea AS Roma

Chelsea dominated this group A European Champions League match but only managed to score late on in the game in the 77th minute through \john Terry. Roma have a terrible record on British soil and it didn’t improve last night

AC Milan Liverpool

Liverpool looked to be winning this closely fought battle between the 2 top team in Group D of the European Champions League until AC Milan scored a late equalising goal in the 83 rd minute.

Zenit St.Petersburg 1-1 BATE Borisov

BATE Borisov took another point in the Champions League as they managed to draw in St. Petersburg, against Zenit. Niakhaichyk opened the scoring for BATE Borisov in the 52nd minute but Zenit managed to equalize,in the 80th minute. Tekke scored the goal.

FC Porto 0-1 Dynamo Kiev

In this champions league game Dynamo Kiev scored a narrow win over FC Porto.

Dynamo Kiev scored a very important win in Portugal against FC Porto. Aliyev’s 27th minute free kick was the only goal of a closely fought match and gave 3 valuable points to the Ukrainian side. Kiev are now second in the Champions League Group G, with 5 points, 2 fewer than leaders Arsenal

Manchester United 3-0 Celtic

Manchester United comfortably defeated Celtic at Old Trafford to emphasise the gulf between English and Scottish clubs in Europe. Berbatov scored 2 goals, both of which could have been offside and Rooney ,who can’t stop scoring at the moment,added the third.

A comfortable and expected win for Manchester United in Denmark in the Champions league.United were never really threatened and scored through Rooney with Berbatov putting away 2 easy chances.

United are top of the group on goal difference from Villareal.
